Vocalist
As well as being the workplace of hundreds of acrobats, magicians and stunt performers, we have a number of male and female vocalists. Vocalists often sing while another artist is performing a visual routine; and these two acts complement each other perfectly to create an exciting, vibrant show.
Usually, circus music tells a story that’s acted out eloquently by acrobats and vocalists. The singers pride themselves on working in the best venue in the world, currently performing cirque-style music. There has been a revolution recently in the genre, especially as it now focuses on combining traditional circus elements with modern pop beats. This style of contemporary music contributes brilliantly to the fantastic atmosphere of the circus.
Some circus productions involve vocalists taking centre stage. This keeps performances fresh and original, moving away from the stereotype that circuses only specialise in performing acrobatics. Often artists will perform solo acts, or they will perform together; one popular act involves a female trio singing in harmony.
Once you’ve seen these gifted individuals at work, you’ll realise how fantastic the circus really is – offering 21st century vocals and brand-new shows for a traditional event that many of us have fond memories of.
