In April this year, the producers making a music video for Kidz Bop approached us at Circus Stardust Entertainment Agency, looking to hire a complete circus for a music video. A music group called Kidz Bop had chosen to create their very own circus in a circus big top for their new music video. Kidz Bop is an American children’s music group, that produces family-friendly cover versions of pop songs.
The producers wanted to hire a circus big top, complete with circus acts, plus a venue close to London for the circus set up, with hotel accommodation and function suites. As we have several unique locations and venues available to us, around the UK, suitable for big top hire, this was very straightforward for our team. Within a week we had completed site visits with the producers, booked the complete hotel and grounds, along with over 180 hotel rooms, and all the hotels’ function suites. We supplied a complete circus with technicians, lighting, rigging, seating, heating, and circus acts which included a ringmaster, clown, aerial acrobats, roller skating act, along with several other circus performers.
We liaised with the hotel managers, to make sure all our client’s requirements were met, ensured that function suites were set up for hair/makeup, wardrobe, and green rooms. We worked with the hotel grounds staff to ensure the site being used for the complete circus set-up was accessible, and that additional power and water supplies were in place for catering. Our clients did not have to worry about anything, whatever they needed, our team made it possible for them. We even organised for the hotel’s disused water fountain to be repaired and functional, prior to shooting the music video.
Our team arrived on site the day prior to the circus tent being set up and remained on site 24/7 for the duration of the filming to manage everything. Prior to and during filming, we worked closely with the CEOs, producers, location managers, H&S officer, security officials, catering, and props department. Shaun Bramhull, proprietor of Circus Stardust Agency, took care of the booking from the first call to the last vehicle leaving the site. During the week, the weather was dreadful, not only was it cold but we also experienced strong winds and torrential rain. However, nothing was going to stop the team, and of course, it was lovely and warm in the central heated big top. Even with the storms, it was a very successful week filming the new Cirque du Bop music video, it was also great fun with the amazing Kidz, the Kidz Bop team and producers.
